The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) is a public institution dedicated to strengthening the national economy through effective projects for SMEs and startups.
As such, we seek to protect and uphold the human rights of our employees and all stakeholders involved in our policy services by respecting and upholding both domestic laws and international human rights standards.
To this end, KOSME hereby proclaims this Human Rights Management Charter as a statement of the principles of conduct and judgment for all executives and employees, and pledges to uphold it.
We shall endorse international human rights standards and conventions that uphold the values of human rights, labor, and the environment in order to realize a society in which all persons are treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination of any kind.
We shall prohibit discrimination against all stakeholders on the grounds of gender, age, region, occupation, disability, religion, political beliefs, or any other basis, and respect diversity.
We shall ensure the fundamental labor rights of all employees, including the freedom of association.
We shall not tolerate forced labor or child labor in any form.
We shall provide a safe and comfortable working environment in order to protect the occupational safety and the right to health of all employees.
We shall comply with domestic and international environmental laws and regulations, endeavor to protect the environment, and prevent any adverse environmental impacts.
We shall uphold the human rights of our business partners and customers, including contractors and external committee members, and support and cooperate with them in the promotion of human rights management in order to fulfill our human rights responsibilities throughout the supply chain.
We shall guarantee customers’ right to access information in the course of conducting our business, operate and provide support fairly, and actively protect both corporate and personal information collected in the course of our duties.
We shall provide prompt and appropriate remedies in cases of human rights violations and make continued efforts to prevent such violations proactively.
